Site Performance Issues (1/12/09)

For anyone experience site performance problems like I have all day today: I've been in contact with the host provider and they assure me that technicians are working on the problem. They gave me no ETA to resolution. If the same crap is happening tomorrow, I plan to try to escalate the issue...

The only problem I'm having is when I click on "view more smilies," not only do I get the little window that opens up all the extra smilies, but the page where I post a comment turns into a page that also lists all the smilies... (Hope that makes sense)

Not sure if this is the known issue, but I keep getting logged out of the site. Not a big deal, just a minor annoyance to have to log-in again almost daily.

I've looked a bit into each of these but don't have time this week to dig much more.

I think the smilies issue is likely a browser config issue. I'll be more specific about it next week.

The autologin issue has bugged me for a log time. And I've spent quite a chunk of time looking into it. I can mask over the problem immediately, but I'd like to solve the real problem. I think I have some stuff to try next week. If I get no where with that, then I'll try the workaround I just alluded to.

Mike, I've successfully had myself logged in for a couple of days now. Including closing all my browsers and restarting. If you're still having an issue, send me a PM and we'll work thru it... It should be working.

Are you still having this issue Anthony? I haven't been able to reproduce it in firefox. I haven't tried IE.

I used IE over the weekend because I needed it for a site that could not handle Mozilla Firefox. I came here and had to sign in every time I navigated away and came back to the cc.net.

Very annoying but easily solved by using Firefox.

Maybe we should have a footer on the front page stating: This site is optimized for Firefox 3.0.8

Actually, no. I do not recall having this problem lately. But thanks for checking in!

I am running with IE 6 and I can close down my browser and reopen 15 minutes later and I would be still logged into cc.net.

Maybe an issue with a newer version?
