All righty then — Mueller and Tikhonov as a package to Atlanta, along with Sauer, Ross and our first rounder pick this year for Kovalchuk. Then sign the Russkie to a big fat contract, locking him up and we barge forward with him, all guns blazing.

First line: Doan, Lombardi, Kovalchuk
second line: Upshall, Hanzal, Vrbata
Third line: Prucha, Lang, Korpikoski
Fourth line: Winnick, Fiddler, Pyatt
Spares: Boedker, Bissonnette

Sounds good to me. Imagine the power play with Kovalchuk playing the point with Aucoin/Yandle or Jovo and Doan, Upshall and Lombardi up front. Nice.

How you going to get anyone to take a 30 something Dman that has been on IR since the first game of the season?

Well first we need an owner. Next I think you have to make a second deal with that lineup. I'm not in favor of splitting up Lombo and Upshaw. Alexei Ponikarovsky shouldn't cost that much and can stand in front of the net and replace Pyatt. I've seen plenty of him try to be a finess player. We need another big guy that plays like a big guy.

Doan Lang Kovalchuk
Upshaw Lombo Poni
The Checs
Winnick Fiddler Korpo or Biz

Just read there's a hearing on Feb 12th so looking like the ownership thing isn't going to get done in this friggin century!

And Sauer is a good blueliner. His brain will repair and he will be back, forcing a nice problem for GMDM. At this point, considering how well our D has played, I think he is on the outside looking in. So we might as well add him to a trade package for an upgrade somewhere.

Reports I read say Sauer is out because of headaches. Mebbe he got dizzy and fell over and busted his wing.

ha! About kovie form ek

Phoenix
Contender? Maybe
Players for Now? Yes. Lombardo, Mueller
Prospects? Yes.
Thoughts: I would love to see Ilya land here. They are my favorite possible mystery team. Plus for the Ice Edge guys, while they dont own the team yet, this would be a very characteristic move and make a huge impact
What I have heard: The NHL is in an awkward spot with this one. The Loss of Upshall hurts.

On Peter Mueller...

The Bruins are working on this right now I am told...The Flyers have interest I am told... (The Flyers also were in on Wallin according to some sources.) As do the Thrashers...

Maybe we can rape the Flyers one more time, would make sense with Carcillo and muels being best buds. Mueller for Giroux or Gagne I would take.

Does Boston have anything of worth? Giroux is showing my scoring then Mueller, but I'd rather have Mueller unless the Flyers sweeten the pot with Ville Leino or a prospect.

I like yer thinkin'.
If we could pry Giroux from the Flyers for Petey — I think I might blow a blue flame out me bum.
Gagne — I fear he may be wallowing in the too-easily-broken end of the pool nowadays. If he was still healthy and ranging in the 70 plus points a season terrain — definitely.
But Giroux seems like a gamer, to me. Speed, drive and a nose for the net.

THAT was hilarious

On Giroux, I would love to have a guy who can do this.
