Poor Wheeler...

Awww, poor Wheeler. He had his fun in Boston., but now he's off to Atlanta (much better than PHX, huh?). On the positive side (for him), at least he'll get more playing time.

Only thing that could be better is if he was sent to NYI.

On a positive note (again for Blake), at least he'll only be there until the end of the season since I doubt ATL will be willing (or able) to match a wacky offer (especially if he slacks for the rest of the season). Of course, I truly hope someone offers him a 5 or 6 year deal and Atlanta matches it

I'm sure he wanted to go to Toronto to be with his chum Phil the Floater Kessel.

He would have gotten the same amount of playing time here as he will in ATL (a non-playoff team). Not to mention the rookie max, the jackweed.
I'm due for a phone upgrade, and I can tell you what I will NOT get.....eat it Silly-Sack! Boycot the Blackberry!

On the bright side for Wheeler - looks like he is going to get to play near his hometown next season!

Congratulations to Wheeler on his new contract with the Jets

Information on term and money isn't available yet, but it will be interesting to see.

2 years (2.45/2.65 million)

Not too bad, I suppose; at least his salary is going up.

Wheeler is the kind of player who will have a couple of excellent seasons, likely when he's 28-30 or so. He could easily hit the 70 point mark for a couple of seasons before his fat head explodes.
