And once again, the Pacific gets that much more difficult.

Yeah, the Kings got themselves a big grunting scorer but they gave up lots to get him.
Hemsky would have been a better fit with the Kings, IMHO.

But a rejuvenated Penner will give the Kings lots more pop as they battle toward the playoffs.

On a bright side, a big D-man like Klesla will come in handy shutting down a guy like Penner.

Kopitar and Hemsky would have been a nightmare. Penner is bad enough, though.
I'm due for a phone upgrade, and I can tell you what I will NOT get.....eat it Silly-Sack! Boycot the Blackberry!

It's a good deal for LA. They have a lot of assets. If we had the money, we could swing that trade without worrying about our prospects too. Maybe some day...

Maybe some day... we won't trade our leading goal scorer for a lumbering, injury prone, one dimensional, defensive defenseman, on a contract that makes him the third highest defenseman on the team with three years remaining on it?

I can't wait...

I am aware.

While a game does not make a career, he played very well against the Stars.

Yargh. Still young. Can still pull it together for a few seasons in a row (many injury prone B liners do). And still has the talent to pot 20-25 points, IF he stays healthy. Klesla CAN be a dominating defenceman when he wants to be. It's just WHEN. Crap shoot, I guess.
