Yes, he might still have some gas in the tank, but the key there is "might." I think you have to also take into consideration that he may not want to go to a number of teams (including ours--I'd guess); it's not like he's hurting for money :P

Update on Jagr: "3 Teams Interested"

Admittedly, this is from his agent, so you have to keep that in mind, but apparently NJ, MTL, and EDM are the (rumored) 3. I tend to agree with his agent, it may take time (once teams have a better idea of their players/prospects' potentials).

Guys like Jagr and Morrow are still 'out there' because they're commanding lots of interest and the best deal is yet to be found by their agents.
I could see Morrow landing in Phoenix because of the Tippett connection and I would LOVE to see us snag him. I'd be more pumped by such an acquisition than the Ribeiro signing. Morrow would only bring about 30 points to the table but his leadership and grit would be HUGE. Morrow and Doan on a line with Hanzal - woof - what a load they would be to handle!

Read an interview with Vrbata on a Czech website. He states that he and GM Maloney have been having talks about bringing in Hejduk for 1-2 seasons to play on a line with him and Hanzel. Maybe not so bad..14 goals playing on 3-4 line(11/12 season). I think he could be back up into the 20s. Thoughts? Rants? Might be fun watching the three.

I think I'll pass at this point since we have plenty of 3rd/4th line forwards at this point. I also think it would be one of those reclamation projects that I don't want to see us explore yet again. We need someone in their mid-to-late 20s that we'd have for 4-5 seasons. Plus, Vrbata needs to improve more and I think separating him from Hanzal would be best at this point (that pairing didn't really work too well last "season").

Now, if we were to get rid of Biz and sign Hejduk for 1-2 seasons, I'd be fine with signing him (for under 2 mill each season). I don't think he'll be on that line much, but he might do well on a line with Kopi & Vermette or Chip & Klinkhammer

Reclamation projects are the Don's specialty. Nothing would surprise me in that regard.

But I agree. I would rather Vrbata be scoring goals with the top 6, than worrying about playing 3rd/4th minutes with his buddy.

I typed the last post, then went to TSN. We signed Tim Kennedy. So yeah, a 27 year old with 125 games under his belt, who's best year was 09-10 with 78 games and 26 points - sounds like a Don project to me.

More than likely, the Kennedy signing was to replace Bolduc in the A (I hope) and for injury call-up. I doubt we're looking at playing him regularly (especially if we can snag a few more forwards through signings/trades before the season begins).

Maybe. And maybe not. I see 12 forwards right now under contract, with NHL experience (counting Boedker - RFA). They will carry 14 or so on the NHL roster. Looks to me like a part time, rostered player.

I am pretty sure I remember GMDM saying in a recent interview that he's not done. Kennedy might get a look in camp. He might fill in during injuries. I don't see him as a regular in the show with the Yotes in 2013/'14.

Maybe he will bring back Victor Tikhanov, grandson of the legendary soviet coach, Victor Tikhanov.

I was browsing through the available UFAs and noticed that Anthony Stewart is available. Last year wasn't good for him, but he scored 20 points in 2011-2012 and 39 in 2010-2011 (he'd at least have the potential of being an upgrade over Moss), which doesn't really fit our needs but might be worth considering.

Rumor: GMDM's latest dumpster dive:

Gilbert Brule will be attending Coyotes training camp.

I don't know if that's a dumpster dive since he was with us in 2011-2012 (14 points in 33 games) and decided to play elsewhere for the abbreviated season.

I looked him up on capgeek and they have him listed as being with the Coyotes for 2013-2014, so perhaps it's more than a camp invite. He's not exactly what we need, but could be a serviceable 3rd or 4th liner. A Korpi-Hanzal-Brule line might be interesting. I suppose a Chip-Klinkhammer-Brule line might be okay as well. If anything, he's gotta be better than Yip :)

I'm still waiting for that 1st/2nd line LW

Circumstances make it a dumpster dive in my mind. I believe Brule *can be* a decent 3rd / 4th liner in the NHL. Citing 'personal problems', Brule cut his engagement with Swiss League ZSC Lions short in 2012/'13. I assume these problems have been dealt with?!

Brule will have to bring it in camp in order to earn a contract. If he does, he gives the Yotes more depth.
