Float companies?

Postby davinchy on Thu Nov 10, 2011 2:55 pm

Anyone know of any float companies that can cross the border and handle a big piece of equipment?

I need a float from Bristol, VA to Eldee, Ontario, Canada that can handle a Michigan L320 with the specs of:

Weight: 100,940 lbs
Length: 29.5 feet
Height: 14 feet
Width: 12 feet

There is no bucket but the tires would be on.

Anyone :shrugg:

 no,

I have some blocks of stone weighing 15 - 30 tons that I need to load and the motor seized on my loader so this is a replacement one. There is not many pieces of equipment in the market that can move a 30 - 40 ton piece of stone and have the mobility to get around a quarry. The overhead photo came from a helicopter, and the photo with the loader...well there is also 5 tons of calcium in the back tires for additional counter weight.

Neat. I take it you could be building your own little Stonehenge?

I'd love to help but unfortunately I do not have a float in the Great Lakes area at the moment. I *could* help out with a vacant one bedroom apartment in a very nice retirement residence...

 I guess I could have the guys build me something...not sure how the company shareholders would take it though ;)

Not ready to retire just yet but I will keep it in mind.

Google: Earth Glitter Granite that is what the stone looks like polished...all the grey blocks are this stone.

We also started to cut green this season as well though the finished slabs have not hit the market yet.

Thanks Rick, I remembered seeing Don standing beside a very large wheel of a very large dump truck. One of the reasons I posted this :)

Just put it on the roof rack of my minivan. If the van gets smashed flat, it's ok.

Unfortunately, I'm not in mining anymore. I got laid off in '09 and have since moved across country to Maine and am driving motor coaches from Portland to Boston. If you need a bus, I might be able to point you in the right direction.

I did a quick search and found this....Might be overkill though

Thanks for the tip and sorry to hear. Took a bit but I finally found a company licensed to bring equipment into Canada...which is ironic considering the loader was origionally made in Canada.
